Very well written. However, I do not agree with your statements entirely. To me it doesn’t seem to be backed by quantifiable facts or data or numbers. You did talk about tech and engineering, but without facts, its just an opinion. Which by the way is okay as I am not trying to question your belief or sentiment towards Twitter and Social Media. However, one must not confuse “Correlation” with “Cause”. Abuse has been into existence as much long as the web has been. Whether its on Twitter, or radical replies on YouTube videos. Look at any song on YouTube. Most of the times, what I find is that people aren’t even arguing over content or nature of the video. Yes, they are abusive, they all swear more than once in probably every comment that they post, and they all contribute equally towards a 1228 comments long Abusive Mashup of their opinions faith belief and almost all the times, stupidity. But does that mean YouTube is going down? I am sure even you would agree that, thats not happening.

I do respect the quality of your article though, its a good learning lesson for myself.
